Hunter Valley Retreat

In the middle of July I attended a seminar in the Hunter Valley region about 2 hours north of Sydney Australia.
The Retreat is in a beautiful valley and is an ideal location for a getting away from it all and to see some interesting birds.
While the majority of my days were spent in seminars, I did get some time to enjoy watching some of the many birds in the area.

Carolina wren nest

Once again a wren has made a nest, but this time it's under the patio cover in the back yard. However, it decided that the area was too congested with the 2 dogs and one puppy, so it abandoned its eggs. Here is a pic of them after I removed the nest. They are really pretty. I noticed that the wren had used some dog hair in its nest. Or the hairs could be from the longhorn cattle next door I guess.
